Catherine Hanss Brownlee, Managing Director
Catherine is the Managing Director of Landscape Collaborative. Prior to running LC, she worked in the intersection of financial operations and agriculture. Catherine holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Cornell in Plant Genetics and Applied Economics & Management and is a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist. Since 2018, she has governed the larger strategy and sales for Landscape Collaborative. 

Catherine has a thoughtful aesthetic eye to the existing landscape or new plantings. She maintains a deep-seated love for perennials with a notable leaning to British border gardens and Victorian deciduous shrubs. She is always eager to talk about plants and how to modify a garden for her clients' use and delight.

Robert Hanss, Owner

Bob is the owner of Landscape Collaborative.  In 2018, Bob bought Landscape Collaborative to cultivate long-term relationships and gardens that can be aesthetically and horticulturally supported after the initial construction. He brings 40+ years of experience from his award-winning, residential landscape construction firm, Robert Hanss Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and is a registered Landscape Architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is known for his high-touch attention to detail, quality, and rigorous standards.

 

Carl Saccone, Construction Project Manager

Carl came to Landscape Collaborative with 15 years of design experience working at professional firms across New England. A Massachusetts native and graduate of UMASS Amherst’s Landscape Architecture program, Carl brings a sense of New England style and aesthetic through native plantings and materials. Carl enjoys meeting new clients, conceptual design and working with owners and our build team to bring a garden plan to life.

Nicola Scipio, Lead Horticulturist

Nicola brings 20 years of experience in greenhouse production and operations to her role as Horticulture Production Manager. With an AS degree in Horticulture, she is passionate about leading her team, building strong client relationships, and cultivating exceptional gardens. Nicola is always excited to talk about plants and share her passion for horticulture with clients and colleagues alike.

 

Sam Lopes, Landscape Designer

Sam has a passion for art and plants, bringing 4+ years of experience in both landscape design and maintenance to the team. Sam received a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island. They enjoy designing visual graphics in both 2D or 3D and spending time outside exploring gardens and woodland trails. In their free time, Sam draws using stipple and zentangle techniques in pen and ink to bring plants and animals to life.

 

Ayehlet Cooper, Landscape Designer

After spending the last decade overseas working in landscape architecture, project management, and horticulture, including for Shlomo Aronson Architects and for the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, Ayehlet is happy to return to her New England roots. She has worked at many landscape scales, from green roof design, installation, and maintenance, to the creation of horticulturally-nuanced private gardens, to accessible campuses, large city centers and other municipal projects. She brings a deep commitment to the success of the full project life cycle and to prioritizing coordination and communication around the needs of the client. As part of the Landscape Collaborative team, she is excited to apply her love of plants and her problem-solving abilities to creating beautiful, well-planted outdoor spaces that meld form and function.

 

Susan Kennedy, Director of Maintenance

Susan has worked for Landscape Collaborative for over 15 years. She manages the day-to-day maintenance schedule and associated client emails. She is the warmest voice on the other end of the phone and is thoughtful about how to help. Susan has a love for travel and lived many years abroad before coming back to her home state of MA. She is happiest when dancing, spending time with family and friends and exploring a new area.

 
 

Martin Lucyk, Construction Project Manager

Martin Lucyk received a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto and was an associate at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Oehme van Sweden & Associates and EDAW Inc prior to running his own business for 10+ years. He joined LC in 2022, bringing over 35+ years of experience to the team. Martin has an intimate understanding of construction and brings his insightfulness to projects from inception to completion.

Lisa Morrissey, Controller

Lisa brings a diverse set of talent to the Landscape Collaborative team. She has over 25 years of experience in apparel manufacturing and fashion industry, including running her own bespoke accessories design studio. She manages Human Resources, bookkeeping and the office, and enjoys any chance to be creative. She is the mastermind behindthe company’s events.

 

Kasey Grzyb, Director of Horticulture

Kasey works heavily in LC’s backend– managing subconsultants, diving into labor hours and ensuring that our processes run smoothly. Prior to LC, she did project management and graphics for a landscape architecture and urban planning firm. Outside of work, Kasey enjoys gardening (of course!), hiking, cooking, traveling, and pastel painting—basically anything that lets her create, explore, or play in the dirt.

 

Kacie, Lead Container Designer

Kacie brings over 10 years of floral design experience to their role as Lead Container Designer. They hold an Associate of Science degree in Biology with a focus on sustainable agriculture. They are a graduate of Rittners School of Floral Design. Known for their creativity and positive energy, Kacie enjoys building connections through horticulture, art, and community. Outside of work, they can often be found playing music, tending to their home garden, or creating art with friends.

 

Veronica, Account Manager and Designer

Veronica brings design experience spanning public parks, playgrounds, and streetscapes, as well as ecological restoration, native planting design, and residential landscapes throughout New England. She began her career at CBA Landscape Architects, working on public realm projects before expanding into ecologically focused residential design practice.

She holds a Master of Science in Ecological Design from the Conway School and has a strong foundation in sustainable land management and farming. Driven by a deep appreciation of natural processes, her work focuses on resilient, ecologically grounded landscapes that respond thoughtfully to how people use and experience outdoor spaces.
